Requirements description

4–7 years of experience in front-end or full-stack development

-Strong proficiency in JavaScript/TypeScript and frameworks such as React or Next.js

-Experience developing Office Add-ins using Office.js and familiarity with Microsoft 365 tools

-Expertise in DOM manipulation, responsive layout, and component-based UI architecture

-Knowledge of asynchronous programming, API integration, and state management (e.g., Redux or Context API)

-Strong UX sensibility and experience collaborating with design teams

-Excellent communication skills and ability to contribute to technical documentation

Ideal Qualifications

-Experience with large language model (LLM) applications or generative AI (e.g., summarization, rewriting, RAG)

-Familiarity with enterprise deployment practices and security standards

About the project:

We are looking for a Senior Front-End Engineer to lead the development of a Microsoft Word Add-in for an AI-powered assistant used in scientific document authoring. You will work in a cross-functional team at the intersection of design, productivity, and AI to bring LLM-based functionality into the native Microsoft Word environment. The project empowers researchers to work more efficiently with scientific texts using intelligent features such as summarization, rewriting, and contextual navigation.

Your responsibilities

1. Lead the development of a production-ready Microsoft Word Add-in based on an existing React/Next.js application
2. Build and integrate a dynamic side panel using Office.js within Microsoft Word (Office 365 web and desktop)
3. Collaborate closely with product managers, UX designers, and AI engineers to deliver intelligent user-facing features
4. Ensure responsive design, cross-platform compatibility, and secure backend API integrations
5. Maintain clean, modular, and scalable code with an emphasis on performance and maintainability
6. Prepare for possible future integration with other Office tools or enterprise solutions
